Genetic Counseling Services
we provide
More than Just Genetic Counseling:
Genetic Test Result Counseling: We will meet with you to review genetic testing results, whether or not you received them as a patient of Clover Genetics, from a different provider, or even through a direct-to-consumer service. This review may include risk management guidelines, coordinating additional testing, implications for you and your family members, and connecting you with the resources you need for your mental and physical health, social supports, and available resources. Follow-up care can extend to multiple appointments based on individual needs. Our end goal is to ensure you feel supported throughout the process in a holistic approach promoting wellness and risk management both in terms of physical and mental health.
Genetic Testing Coordination: If you decide genetic testing is right for you, we will work with you and/or your provider to facilitate the process. Usually, samples for genetic testing can be collected at home via a pre-posted collection kit that can be mailed directly to the lab. If a blood sample is required, Clover Genetics can facilitate “mobile-phlebotomy services” to send a qualified professional to collect your blood from the comfort of your home. Whatever the case may be, we will work to make it as seamless as possible!
Complimentary Care Coordination: If you do not currently have all the providers you need to complete your care team, our staff will assist in reviewing your current needs and identifying new resources for you as part of your genetic counseling appointment. Additional services outside of your appointment may be provided for additional fees.

Policy on Direct-to-Consumer Genetic Testing and Raw Data Review
At Clover Genetics, we strive to provide the highest quality genetic counseling. Clinically validated information is information that has been confirmed by thorough medical scientific analysis that has been proven to be highly accurate and can be used to base individual health decisions. Genetic counseling recommendations must be based on clinically validated information. Genetic test products that do not use clinically validated information are called Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) and can be ordered by individuals for themselves without a clinician, like 23&me, AncestryDNA, EasyDNA, tellmeGen, MyHeritage, and others. While DTC genetic testing can offer interesting insights, these tests generate vast unanalyzed raw data without the same level of expert curation, validation, or interpretation as clinical-grade genetic testing.
To ensure a productive and meaningful session, we have the following requirements for reviewing DTC genetic test results:
Summary Reports: If your DTC testing provider has issued a summary report, we can review it during your session. Please provide this report in a PDF or similar format prior to your appointment.
Variant Selection: To maximize the effectiveness of your session, we ask that you select 5-7 variants of the highest concern for focused discussion. Additional variants may require a separate visit and an additional appointment charge.
Raw Data: We do not review raw data files due to the complexity and limitations of interpretation without the support of a clinical genetic laboratory.
Third-Party Analysis Tools: We do not endorse specific programs, such tools can assist in refining data for review but given the required analysis we cannot assist in this process.
Why This Policy?
DTC raw genetic data is not clinically validated, and interpreting it outside a clinical setting can lead to unnecessary stress, misinterpretation, and inaccurate conclusions. Our goal is to provide responsible, evidence-based guidance that aligns with the best standards in genetic counseling.
Alternative Options:
If you are seeking more comprehensive genetic testing with clinical validation, we can guide you toward appropriate medical-grade testing options that may better address your concerns.
