Please review eligibility requirements

Clover Genetics not only seeks to improve access to genetic counseling through unique service delivery but also to provide education and resources to genetics professionals and patients within our community. The success of the genetics industry requires far more than the availability of genetic counselors.

We believe that creating a strong team requires diverse skill sets to tackle various projects that will enhance the care that we provide, as well as prepare future generations of genetic counselors for the responsibility of providing holistic clinical care.

Our interns gain exposure to the workflows of a telehealth genetic counseling practice operating remotely across the United States and its territories. Regardless of their roles, those who have completed our background check requirements receive opportunities to shadow and provide supportive assistance during clinical appointments with patients across a variety of specialties. We offer support for interns working to improve their skills in writing, visual presentation, public speaking, organization, and other aspects important to success in graduate school.

Clinical Education:

Our program provides students with a unique environment to learn virtually in a relaxed and formal setting. Presentations pertinent to topics in Genetic Counseling are organized, minimally, on a monthly basis. These are recorded and shared internally across our team to allow for flexibility for those in different time zones or limited availability during the weekday. Our practice sees patients across almost all specialties, so our interns have the chance to gain exposure to less common specialties, like Connective Tissue Disorders, Psychiatric Genetics, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Pharmacogenomics, Direct-to-Consumer Testing Reviews, and more.

Intern Opportunities

Personal and Professional Development: You will participate in pre-recorded and live-scheduled trainings, presentations, and discussion groups that will enhance your professional and academic skills as well as prepare you for the application, interviewing, and transition as you move toward your goals as a genetic counselor. You will receive exposure and experience to cultural and individual differences across the cohort and through our endeavors to explore and support diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. • Vacation time and time off for academic, personal, or professional reasons will be accommodated as much as possible. Advance notice is always appreciated and preferred! Certain schedule changes that will long-term impact the requirements of the role (like a month long vacation or inability to commit to specific internship times) may create the need for a role change or early termination to your program participation.

An example schedule is found below. Note that the schedule of each GCA will be created based on their academic, professional, and personal schedules to ensure mutual benefit and no detriment to other commitments.

  • GCA 1: Assigned to GC1
