How to Pay:
If you are not using a code from a specialty program, the standard rate for genetic counseling services is $300 per hour, or $150 per half hour. All initial appointments are scheduled for one hour.
When you schedule your service with Clover Genetics you will be required to put a card on file and will be charged a $150 non-refundable deposit for the first half of your appointment (this fee covers 30 minutes of service).
An initial appointment generally lasts one hour, so to hold an appointment spot you will be charged the rate for half-an-hour, $150
Appointments utilize CPT code 96040 for billing
Appointments will not be prorated and are based on the amount of 30-minute increments used
Upon the completion of appointments over 38 minutes, the remaining fees will be charged, generally another $150, to complete payment for a one-hour appointment.
If you decide to pursue genetic testing, we will not submit your order until we have received payment for any outstanding appointment fees. Genetic testing fees go directly to the testing company and you may be able to utilize insurance. We can assist in setting up genetic testing and exploring pricing.
Paying for Genetic Testing:
Clover Genetics will work with your physician or our third-party physician along with the lab to find the most affordable option if genetic testing is indicated. Most insurance plans offer coverage for genetic testing. Before any testing begins, our team will partner with the lab to provide a clear estimate of the cost. We will also explore no-cost and self-pay options to ensure access to testing. Many genetic testing laboratories offer Out-of-Pocket payment discounts for patients seeking testing without insurance. Patient Assistance Programs are often available for those who qualify.
Our practice collaborates with a family practice physician who specializes in genetics and conducts case review to authorize genetic testing requests. There is an additional $25 fee for this service and physician authorization is a legal requirement in most states to order testing. This service is available in the United States and its territories only.
