Clover Genetics Prioritizes the Protection of our Community

All Clover Genetics employees, contractors, partners, and volunteers are required to attest to uphold our Values and Culture Policy. This is to protect our team as well as our patients and community from facing adversity during their pursuit of safe and judgment-free healthcare to which they are entitled.

Values and Culture Policy

Diversity and Antiracist Policy: Clover Genetics is committed to providing a space for diverse perspectives that elevate the needs and experiences of marginalized or underrepresented communities and actively aims to act as an ally through the promotion of healthcare equality awareness and anti-racist content. 

Any discovery of content created or shared by any partners, employees, volunteers, or associates of Clover Genetics that either intentionally or unintentionally violates our anti-racism policy (exhibits racist, Antisemitic, Islamophobic, prejudiced, ablest, misogynistic, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, etc.) will be grounds for immediate severance of all contracts and public associations with Clover Genetics. Any behavior or comments perceived as violating our anti-racism policy may be met with education, mediation, or immediate termination based on the circumstances, but our employee, intern, contractor, patient, and client’s safety, mental health, and well-being remains our number one priority.

Partnership and contract agreements with other groups must display our values, or risk putting our brand at risk. The use of any Clover Genetics elements including logos, marketing materials, advertising, or other materials must be explicitly approved by Clover Genetics and may not be shared or used with any externally shared or electronically available materials or imagery.

Abortion Education and Support: Clover Genetics supports an individual’s right to ultimately decide to terminate a pregnancy. When patients make this difficult choice, Clover Genetics seeks to provide education on the realities of termination, supportive resources, follow-up care, and ultimately aims to reduce stigma associated with voluntary abortion. Clover Genetics respects that abortion may go against individual beliefs, but as current and future healthcare providers, it is important to remain unbiased and provide our patients a safe and guilt-free environment to make their own choices. While no individual will be required to participate in the creation of abortion awareness content or associated patient interactions, they are expected to remain impartial and provide a judgment-free environment that respects our patient’s autonomy regardless of personal beliefs. Clover Genetics will make all possible accommodations to provide a safe and respectful work environment that does not discriminate against those with personal, professional, cultural, or religious beliefs that may conflict with our stance on abortion care. These accommodations may include, but are not limited to: avoiding scheduling any required discussion surrounding abortion counseling such as: patient interactions, social media initiatives, or internal workflows. Any posting of personal content or content on Clover Genetics’ behalf that violates our unbiased and judgment-free approach to termination counseling will be grounds for severance of all contracts and public associations with Clover Genetics. Current legal restrictions on abortion care based on location will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

Respecting Gender and Sexual Identities: Clover Genetics believes in an individual’s inherent right to self-determine their gender identity through any medically safe means they choose, including, but not limited to: hormonal replacement therapy, or gender reaffirming surgeries. Clover Genetics also supports individuals across all orientations and identities within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and does not tolerate discrimination against individuals on the basis of their sexual orientation. We ultimately aim to create a healthcare community free of shame or fear and full of acceptance, understanding, and unbiased resources and recommendations. Any discovery of personal content posts, or the posting of content on Clover Genetics’ behalf, that violates our policy surrounding the protection of the safe space we have created for all 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals will be grounds for immediate severance of all contracts and public associations with Clover Genetics. Clover Genetics associates are expected to respect and use the self-determined pronouns shared by each individual associate, patient, or client.
